An occasional bulletin on the forthcoming Angkor Old Boys’ Tournament in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, 19 October 2007
This year the Unquenchables propose to bypass the Vets competition in Bangkok and travel to Cambodia to play in the Old Boys’ tournament. The tournament is in its second year. We will most likely meet up with the Old Bangkok Bangers again as well as the Indochine Barbarians. We will have an indication of other teams competing later in the year.
Last year a post match highlight was The Old Boy’s Presentation and Dinner at Sharky Bar, one of the major tournament sponsors.
This year our tour commences with participants arriving in Phnom Penh on 17 October. The day after the tournament the Unquenchables travel to our regular rest and recovery camp in Pattaya,Thailand to fulfill our sponsor obligations. The tourists will depart for home on 27 October.
Research is currently underway to find suitable accommodation for the team. Initial information suggests that per night cost in Phnom Penh would be around $30 US. In addition, a sponsor is being sought for our stay in Phnom Penh.
Currently, return airfares from Bangkok to Phnom Penh range from $120 with Air Asia to $370 with Thai Airways. There are always good deals available for Melbourne Bangkok return flights. It is possible to take a midnight flight from Melbourne to Bangkok and pick up a connecting flight to Phnom Penh.
Please note the tour dates above and register your interest with .
