Masters Grade Rules


These rules are subject to amendment and are listed here as guidelines only

Players to be 35yrs. of age on the 1st January of the year of competition. However, each team is allowed to have three (3) players on the pitch at any one-time aged 30 - 35 yrs. These underage players should be new comers to the game or alternatively, shall have genuinely retired from competition rugby.

A game can commence with less than eleven (11) players on either side. The team with less than the required number of players shall forfeit the competition points.

Lifting in lineout - at the option of both captains.

Non-contested scrums - at the option of both captains.

Father/Son - can only be used once in each season.

Players may be substituted without limit.

The major qualification to appear in social grade matches , shall be that the players enter into the "spirit" of the competition.

Unsportsmanlike behaviour on the field will not be tolerated. - ( unduly rough play ; stomping ; referee abuse )

The Masters Committee, to act and deal with any reports of clubs or players breaching the rules of the game.
