We expected a cast of thousands but sadly the crowd was disappointing. What are we talking about? Registration night. Glenn Hill did collect a few subs but there is still a lot more to come in. It was great to see Sarge and Perky back presumably to play the full season. Steve Merchant is another welcome returnee. He will be vying with Clive Welti for the fly half position. Now that Greg Joubert is vice president all we ever see him in is a shirt and tie. Not a good look Greg. Burdett was a little sad as his newest recruit an ex All Black who has just turned 35 years old didn’t front. This is yet another example of Burdett going to the pub getting pissed and talking to anyone who smiles at him and believing anything he is told. Good to see Mikey gearing up for the season and of course Walshie is rearing to go. He and at least ten others have been training with the Silverbacks for the Masters games. It is just possible we may have a fit side this year. Chris Peugot and Stuart are regulars at the bar and last night was no exception. If Chris Markey is not lumbered with club duties maybe we will see him turn out for the Unquenchables. Jiff was seen at the bar. Hopefully he may be able to find time to sneak in a couple of games this year. Carl Hunt might get serious this year and play, that is if he doesn’t break a fingernail like last year. Snap happy Dennis fired up his camera the results of which you can expect to find in the photos section of our website. Geoff Mason Jones and partner Kerryn turned up at the club. Kerryn is very keen for Geoff to get back to playing. There has to be a reason why.

See you at the bar!
